21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS

Gurley Community Learning Center (GCLC), New Hope Community Learning Center (NHCLC), and Owens Cross Roads Community Learning Center (OXRCLC) are ministries of COLLEGIATE CARE CENTER INC’s Fuel Their Hunger To Learn program, which is funded by a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant awarded by the Alabama State Department of Education. Additional funding from the United Way of Madison County Community Impact grant supplements programmatic costs not allowable by 21stCCLC.

We aim to create a safe and caring environment for students where learning is disguised as fun. Our program builds student science, technology, engineering, math, reading, and art skills. Students also enjoy character education programs and social-emotional learning that teach children how to resolve and cope with many of today’s issues. Additionally, we provide service-learning opportunities that prepare students to give back to their community.

Our 21st Century Community Learning Centers are in session during the school year Monday- Friday from 2:45 – 5:30 PM. They also provide a fun, 5-week Summer camp experience. All programs are cost-free.
